Getting Practical: The Nuts and Bolts of Workplace Investigations

This workshop is designed to provide participants with the fundamental skills and information they need to effectively conduct workplace investigations, and it draws upon Lori’s work as a labor and employment attorney. Workshop participants will learn about each stage of the investigatory process and develop an understanding of the elements that comprise a full and fair investigation.

Examples of topics covered include establishing investigatory parameters, gathering evidence, questioning witnesses, assessing witness credibility, and making a final determination and recommendation. Potential sources of employer liability that may arise if an investigation is not conducted properly are also discussed.
