Understanding Workplace Discrimination​

 

This training is designed to provide individuals with an overview of workplace discrimination under Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and the Age Discrimination in Employment (ADEA).  

 

Upon completion of this training workshop, participants should  be able to:

​

  • Explain the general prohibition of workplace discrimination and the concept of a protected class 

  • Identify the protected classes under Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA) 

  • Explain how an issue related to each protected class might materialize 

  • Understand the obligations of employers to reasonably accommodate religious beliefs and practices and disabilities 

  • Distinguish between intentional and unintentional discrimination 

  • Identify the two forms of sexual harassment as well as the other forms of discriminatory harassment 

  • Explain the prohibition of workplace retaliation
